A faculty of law which it’s astonishing sight brings a glow of awe to every eye and en-kindles a gleam of inspiration to every mind. Its surroundings are indeed one to behold. A well structured edifice erected amidst warm and alluring serene of nature. Elegantly and exquisitely dressed in white and black, students trooping out of the faculty, having received lectures from the excellent and professionals in the field of law from the prestigious faculty.
A faculty which indeed is an epitome of well structured and a standard student leadership, void of incompetency, inconsistency and incongruity. A faculty which builds and encourages healthy and educative competitions and participation's among students in order to bring out the best in them.
 A reinvigorated law faculty replacing thought and set patterns of inordinate misuse and mundane activities.
In order for learning to be well obtained, it ought to be conducted in a conducive environment. The faculty of law which is an epitome of learning, a place where the basics aspects of law is been taught. Therefore, for this to be completely achieved in a massive way, it needs to be done in a conducive environment, one void of distractions and disturbances.
Furthermore, for the learning of the practice of law to be obtainable, the faculty of law should not lack the basic facilities involved in earning greater knowledge and practice which are; a standard law library and a well structured moot court. The mere presence of these facilities would give the student a sense of direction and in fact probe a way for students to achieve greater heights in the application of law.
It has been said that, "the way you dress is the way you will be addressed" Therefore, the appearance of the law students is of great importance and significance to the prestigious faculty of law because, the law students are the ambassadors of the law faculty. A nice well ironed white shirt with an appropriate black tie for the males, coupled with well ironed trousers or skirt and a good pair of black shoes gives a vivid impression of a disciplined and well cultured law student. This automatically distinguishes such students from other students of the school.
A faculty which would not be devoid of a standard and well-structured leadership, comprising passionate, competent and reliable students. People who are willing to give all in order to meet the needs of the faculty.
Nevertheless, the splendor of every faculty of law is of greater prominence outside the four walls of the university in which it is located.
Based on this, involving in inter-school competitions is of relative importance. It exposes students to a greater prospect of learning. It also gives them an opportunity to assess and evaluate their depth of learning and speed of acquiring knowledge
Let’s all come together and build the faculty of law an epitome of greatness that gives more and expect more because to whom much is given, much is expected.

CRIMINAL JURISDICTION OF THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT: HOW EXCLUSIVE?

In a federal system of government, there is usually a division of executive, legislative and judicial powers between the central government and the government of the component units or states. Hence the judiciary in Nigeria can be generally divided into two, viz the Federal judiciary and the State judiciary 1 . Courts of the Federal Judiciary include the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, The Federal High Court, National Industrial Court, etc. On the other hand, State Courts consist of the High court of a State, Sharia Court of Appeal of a State, Magistrate Court, etc.   Asides from the Magistrate Court, all other aforementioned courts are superior courts of record 2 . . The Federal High Court (herein after referred to as FHC), which is the subject of this article is arguably one of the most important courts in the federal judicial hierarchy. This is evident in the fact that it has 36 divisions, spread across the country.   It is however pertinent to note that there is only one FHC.
